UPDATED: 3 ways you can support food bank during coronavirus

20th March 2020

The outbreak of coronavirus is having a huge impact on our community and all our day to day lives – and Worcester Foodbank is no exception.

The spread of this virus has brought immense challenges including the need for us to quickly adapt the way we support our clients, while doing everything in our power to protect them and our volunteers from the risk of infection.

Our volunteers continue to do an outstanding job and defy these unprecedented challenges but we need your support if we’re going to keep up the fight against hunger during the many more difficult days, weeks and potentially months that lie ahead.

Here are 3 ways you can help us:

  • Donate something from our latest shopping list – to help keep us well stocked with the essentials our clients depend on. The people we support cannot afford to put food on the table today, let alone stockpile it for tomorrow. You can add an item or two to your basket and leave them at the many supermarkets that support us. We’ve also launched a pick up service which means we can collect donations from your doorstep. Call or email us to arrange a collection during our opening hours.
  • Give money online  – through our donation page here – this allows us to buy urgently needed items from the supermarket without you needing to leave the house. You can make a one-off donation or give regularly. Every penny you donate will also help to cover the costs of keeping our warehouse open.
  • Send us a supermarket gift card – which we can use to top up our stocks from any of the main store chains.

Your generosity has already seen us through some tough times over the past eight years and we know together we will overcome this outbreak, while protecting the most vulnerable people in our city.
