Our Christmas Gift Card appeal is up and running as we look to repeat the success of last year’s festive fund-raiser for disadvantaged children.
An outpouring of generosity in response to the 2021 appeal enabled us to provide more than 600 vouchers to families that were then able to buy a gift for their child at Christmas.
We expect the number of households needing our help to swell to record levels this winter as the cost of living crisis continues to deepen. That makes our task of ensuring no child wakes up with an empty stocking and stomach even more challenging.
We’re currently feeding more than 1,000 people every month and about 40 per cent of these are children.
Donating to our appeal will help us to provide gift cards to the families that are referred to us which they can spend in local toy shops to the value of £20 per child.
We know last year’s appeal meant the world to parents who were able to bring a smiles to the faces of their children, despite the crisis situations they were living in.
