Worcester Foodbank is in urgent need of volunteers to help in its warehouse on Tuesdays.
The plea for help comes with foodbank facing relentlessly high demand for emergency food, which is seeing us feed around 1,400 people a month.
Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over and available to do regular shifts between 9.30am and 2pm on Tuesdays – although we understand that people may not be able to help every week.
The role will include activities such as packing parcels, sorting and unpacking goods, making up Christmas hampers, purchasing food stock and serving clients as we prepare for an extremely challenging autumn and winter.
The work can be physically demanding and fast paced with lots of lifting but full training will be provided and we encourage volunteers to take breaks throughout their shifts.
If you’re interested in joining our hardworking team of volunteers please contact Ruth Allsopp at [email protected] to arrange a taster session.
